Astra adds CISRS accreditation

Astra Access Safety Training are pleased to announce that they have now become a registered CISRS Scaffold Training Centre.
Following a 6 week refurbishment programme, the new training academy was audited by 3 representives from the CISRS (Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme) audit team and following their very strict scrutiny, we got the thumbs up.
This now means that Astra can now offer you the nationally recognised, CISRS scaffold training.
Currently we can deliver the Part 1 Scaffold course and the two day SITS (Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme) course, in the new year we will be expanding our portfolio to add the Part 2 scaffold course and 2 day SSPTS (system scaffold product training scheme) to the ever growing list of courses that Astra are able to deliver.
The Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) has been the industry recognised scaffold training scheme for over 30 years.
It is the preferred scaffolding qualification of all the major organisations including CSCS, NASC, HSE, UKCG, T&G, UCATT together with the largest scaffold systems manufacturers in the world.
Astra have invested in a facility that is now a CISRS approved Scaffold Training Centre delivering courses for delegates to achieve their CISRS Scaffolding Card, courses will be regularly programmed and delivered at our “National Access Skills Academy “ which is situated just 5 minutes from Junction 38 on the M1 motorway.
The academy is 50,000 sq ft and has an outstanding 18m high indoor facilities, fully fitted out with a full size two storey house and two level steel structure for practical scaffold exercises, all classrooms are fully fitted with modern fittings and presentation equipment and a full range of new scaffolding and access equipment is available.
The academy also has a canteen with fully fitted kitchen for the delegates use, a chill out area with vending machines a wall mounted tv.
Also new to the Astra portfolio is, fork lift truck training, these courses will run on a regular basis and cover counter balance, reach, side loader and tele-handler type trucks
